Cameron Poplarchik, age 13, has been working on a public art project under the guidance of her instructor, Sheri Earnhart, since fall 2016. The artwork is set to be printed on a vinyl wrap to be installed on a traffic control box located near the Johnson City Public Library at the corner of Fairview street and N. Roan street. The Public Art Committee and City Commission approved the project at last night's meeting.
The illustrations feature the character of Mother Goose and her friends on a journey to a floating library in the clouds. Cameron worked in acrylic paints on canvas board. She especially enjoys illustrating animals and considers Mother Goose a part of her childhood introduction to stories and reading. We are very excited for Cameron and will keep you updated on this project.
