OPENING: Semester Show & Silent Auction: on display through December!

Our end of semester student art show opened yesterday at the Johnson City Public Library. There were refreshments provided by the library & our wonderful MOMAC parents. We also had our videographer, Mr. Buckner, present to document the occasion.

The show includes two tables from Herrin-Miller Design graciously donated to help display work & also to be in a silent auction. All proceeds will benefit the library.

Our students worked hard all semester & the culmination of that effort is obvious when you see the displays. Don't miss out! There's mixed media art galore as well as clay art.

Don't be shy, come on out to the library!

At MOMAC, we get great joy out of hosting art shows.  They are events where student
work is honored and personal confidence is boosted.

Please join us in celebrating our students by stopping by the library for a peek at their work and some refreshments!

The show is this Sunday, December 13th, from 2:00 - 4:00pm.  It will be held at the
Johnson City Public Library and will feature the works of MOMAC students in addition to
the beautifully crafted woodwork of Robert Ramsauer from Herrin-Miller Designs located
in downtown Johnson City.

Robert has designed a unique coffee table made of one continuous slab of maple burl wood.  He, Janice Herrin, and John Cross have donated this table to the library where a silent auction will be held for it on the day of the show.

All proceeds will be donated to the library.

IT'S IN THE BAG: Mary B. Martin Arts in Education Conference

MOMAC studio recently participated in the Mary B. Martin Arts in Education Conference on November 16th.

The interactive workshop was designed to challenge the participant's ingenuity by presenting him/her with a "mystery" bag of materials to be used to create an original art piece.

The activity created a consistent flow of resourcefulness, innovation, and "spur of the moment" solutions to problems.  This workshop was designed to demonstrate how visual art can be used to help students connect across content areas
